Updates during the COVID-19 outbreak (Last update: July 2020)
With the stay-at-home order lifted, in-person Worship Services are back on at Nall Avenue Church of the Nazarene! Health and safety are still a priority so we've made some changes to keep in line with social distancing guidelines. Kansas is currently mandating that face masks/coverings be worn in public spaces, and we have masks available for you to wear as you come and go to your seat in the sanctuary. Pre-packaged communion elements have been placed by the hymnals in the pews for you to use as we take communion together at the end of our service. The pews with communion elements are safely distanced apart to help you find a place to sit. We are currently not using the altars for prayer, so send us an email if you need someone to pray with you.
Most Sunday School classes and Wednesday evening activities are not meeting in-person until further notice.
Need to stay home? You still can find our Sunday worship services on our YouTube channel (LiveStreamed every Sunday at 10:30am) and stay informed by following the regular updates on our NallNaz blog page. Spanish language services can be found on the Iglesia de Nall Ave facebook page.
What's it like to worship at Nall Naz?
You're invited to be a part of our community. All you have to do is come as you are and find out more for yourself!
Sunday mornings we begin at 9:30am with Sunday School, or Christian education classes, for infants through senior adults. This includes study and prayer time and a terrific opportunity to get to know others at Nall. Our greeters will be able to direct you to the appropriate classes for you and your family and volunteers at our Check-In points (located at the main entrances upstairs and downstairs) can help you get your kids checked in for our Children's Ministry.
At 10:30am we gather for worship in our Sanctuary (English language) and Chapel (Spanish language). Our services are about 75-90 minutes long and include modern praise and worship music alongside Psalms and ancient hymns. Our main intention is to create a sacred space where worship is accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. Lectors from our congregation read us the scripture passages from the lectionary each week, and these scriptures provide the framework for our worship. We gather for prayer at the altar, and our Pastoral Staff leads us in both traditional and unscripted prayer, while volunteers from our prayer ministry anoint worshippers for healing and intercession when requested. Expect to hear a sermon that challenges you to grow in love and depth of wisdom by our Senior Pastor or one of the many other Elders that our church has been blessed to count among our number. We observe the sacrament of communion every Sunday. All who believe in Jesus Christ and acknowledge their need for grace are welcome to join in communion regardless of church affiliation.
Nursery is provided, and younger school-aged children join in the worship time and are dismissed for Children's Church before the sermon begins.
Once a quarter, we combine our English and Spanish services for Combined Worship in the Sanctuary at 10:30am. We celebrate together with cross-cultural music and traditions with translation provided to be accessible to all.
If you are unable to attend a service in person, we LiveStream our English service on our NalNaz YouTube channel every Sunday a 10:30am. Our Spanish service can be found on the Iglesia de Nall Ave facebook page.
SATURDAY WORD & TABLE
On Saturday evenings at 6:00pm, the Word and Table service meets in the Chapel on the upper level of the building across from the church office. This is a casual, interactive time of liturgical worship and prayer which includes scripture readings, liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer, communion, and a short homily. There is no nursery provided on Saturday night but you are welcome to bring children to the service.
Please CONTACT US with any questions regarding our worship services.
We look forward to meeting you!
